Lucy Lawless has a long and prominent career as an actress and performer from New Zealand. Her name is most well-known in her field for her illustrious performances in a variety of top-rated television series and movies including Xena: Warrior Princess, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, and Spartacus: The Vengeance. As an actress she is most remembered and praised by the incredible role she played as Xena. Lucy performed the role originally intended to be played by Vanessa Angel. She was in a position to not make it to the filming due to illness. Her popularity in the role of Xena led to a spin-off show which was launched in September of 1995. Lucy became more famous as an actor after the spin-off. The popularity of the show grew and it gained cultural importance. Apart from being referred to by fans as Xena Lucy is known as Diane Lewis Swanson from NBC's hit show Parks and Recreation where she played between 2012 and 2015.
