Yael Stone, who was born in Australia and living in New York City in 2013 was the character Lorna Mello as the prisoner In Orange Is the New Black. Yael completed her studies at NIDA. Yael enjoyed the privilege to have the opportunity to work with some of Australia's most renowned storytellers. Her experience includes behind-the-scenes work in television, film and the theatre. Yael is well-known as an actor throughout Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael moved from Australia to New York City after the Brooklyn Academy of Music's staging of the play was a huge success. Yael has co-founded The Cannery. It's located at Bushwick Brooklyn and is based in the city to promote innovative creativity, new writing.
